  • Revo nightmare

Hi all, been browsing the forum for a while now and found lots of good info.
Although i have been hovering my ZOOM 400 for a couple of months now i am progressing into forward flight and need help setting up the revo mixing on my optic 6 transmitter.

I have two questions i need help with - The optic 6 has a two revo setting revo mixing up and mixing down, revo mixing up is above half stick, and mixing down is below half stick, as i increase mixing up to counteract the torque i find this moves the rudder postion at hover and the heli starts to turn clockwise and i have to hold the rudder straight (Without revo mixing the heli hold staight at hover), should i have to alter the rudder trim to keep it straight?

The other question was when does the mixing down come into effect?

When i studied the rudders position the mixing only seems to put the rudder in two postions one postion above and one postion below half stick, i would of thought the rudder would move more and more dependent on the postion of the stick, but it only seems to hold it at a fixed points.

Hope i explained myself ok, any help for this newbie would be apprciated.

hmm it seems odd behaviour, but looking at the manual the setup method is a bit different to how its normaly done, ave you tried this method yet?

Think Keith has it - if you have your gyro in Heading Hold you should have revo switched off.
I don't know anyone with a decent gyro using Revo anymore, if the gyro is set up properly you shouldn't need it.

I have tried the method as described in the manual but as i increase the revo it does seem to add more rudder, the gyro is the protech NT 300 so no HH on this model i belive.

I think i may of sorted my revo problem now,, i was playing with the throttle curve which was set to 0-70-70-70-70, this seemed ideal for hovering but i belive this is why the rudder pitch was staying in the same postion as more stick was added.
I altered it now to 0-70-80-90-100 and it appears that the rudder pitch does now increase as more stick is added through to max stick.
All being well i can test this at the weekend (Weather permitting), but your right a decent gyro is required.

Thanks for your help anyway guys
