Hi Pete and thanks for your input ,I tried the walk behind this morning with my 500 and found it very hard. The both sides this is bang on.I am trying the orientation thing as well as getting it high which is also scary.Seems every day I'm think, sod this but with good weather I must try again. I don't know how long to try for, there has to be a limit .Never though it would still be in one piece this long .

Sorry to invade this discussion. I just wanted to say "what an excellent idea". Why didn't I try that before?!Originally posted by hunter_heli View PostTry moving your body with the helicopter - IE when going nose right with the helicopter move your body to the right (and the transmitter), you won't lose orientation this way. After a while, you wont move your body (but imagine you are) and before you know it you will be side on. After 3 years of flying, i still find myself doing this 'just in case' i have forgotten.BladeĀ® mSR XBladeĀ® mSR

Thankyou! It has worked for me. Also, circuits can seem a bit daunting so when starting out I made squares - Nose right(First side) stop, then tail in(second side) stop, then nose left (third side) stop, but then for the last side stay tail in and move backwards (as nose in was not an option at that time!!) With this exercise you are no more than 90 degrees from your safety 'bail out' position (tail in hover).Originally posted by 5hane View PostSorry to invade this discussion. I will reiterate all comments above, learn to hover comfortably in all directions, take your time, practice, and it will come. It can be a very frustrating hobby at times, but I guarantee at some stage you'll be smiling from ear to ear walking back to the pits... Learn to hover and it also gives you a bail out option, for when you do start to move about, if you can hover 10ft away from you you can also do it at 30,50,70,100ft away, so if you loose orientation while doing your 8's throw it round into a comfortable hover... Keep at it and good luck
