No negative pitch so you can't just fly it down once the wind gets it, have to be prepared to cut the throttle and hope
think that's the best advice! i will not let it happen again, i would rather drop it like a stone than try and turn it around

Hi Bluenose, sorry to hear about the loss, bit of a strange one, perhaps wind speed was higher as you ventured further up?
One thing that happened to me when i first got my Blade 200 SRX, (not sure which TX you have?) but i have a DX6i, i accidentally hit my TH HOLD into position 1 and my heli went AWOL in the park i was flying in, it flew away from me and i felt i had very little control over it, it eventually a long distance away from me hit the top of a 40meter high tree, an i thought 'well that's it game over' but after bashing through stinging nettles and heavy brush i found it lying on the ground making weird noises and in a few bits. (its now repaired and upgraded) I put it down to high thermals and stupidity on my behalf...lol

Insurance is a must IMO, wont fly otherwise even on a little heli. An i have lost a few helis as well, thankfully only in some neighbours back gardens and a conservatory on one occassion!!
