i have an esky usb controller if any1 wants it (£15). i used to play fms alot and have 100's of models and flying sites.

the hypercam and uploading to youtube makes the vids jumpy and looses pic quality. when flying the actual fms the pic is really smooth and very clear

Downloaded and installed it, as Cambs Flyer said if you got confident on helisim and thought you could fly you are in for a big surprise.
To be fair to it, you can tweak quite a few of the settings and set throttle and pitch curves, the guy has put quite a bit of thought into it.

I am surprised that anyone might be led by any simulator to think that they can fly. Surely the only purpose of any simulator is to give an opportunity to learn coordination with controls and reduce the learning curve when attempting to fly the real thing.

As a hot air balloon pilot I know that I didn't really start to learn to fly until after I had passed a flight test and gone solo. But then there is no simulator that I know of that can accurately simulate the flying of a hot air balloon.

If it is really possible to go direct from Phoenix to the flying of a Model Helicopter without crashing then may be I should buy it immediately!

no-one said n e thing about not crashing a real model as theres more than just stick inputs and wind to deal with ... ya got elec glitches and serov failure and gyros failing/ falling off ...But yes with phoenix its a simulation not a game ..... the physics of the helis are that close that yeh ya cud if ya did not have the niggly thing about money at the back of ya mind all the time when flying the real thing .. sim hit reset .... real thing ... rebuild and move on ...The fact is this was about whether this helisim was n e good and seeing as no-one used it they could not give an answer ... nor for me as matter as fact as i dont use it ... If you have ever used phoenix then you would understand Y!! we say it is the best and as close as ya get to actually doing it in the real world ... It's only £80 go buy and then see for ya self ...

Helisim is marginally better that FMS but does not have the zoom feature that FMS has.

Phoenix is in a totally different league. Not only are the physics just about spot on, but it also has a training freature that lets you learn one control at a time and gradually add the others as you get better.

Must have saved me a fortune in spares and you can keep your hand in when the weather is not suitable for flying, or you are waiting for spares.

Only downside to Phoenix is that you have to use their cable and can't use it with a usb dummy transmitter.
