  • Newbie question, Blade CX2 Sim

I'm a newbie to all this, bought a Blade CX2 couple days ago. Been looking on net about connecting controller to pc for sim, on back of controller it had a training port.

Which cable do I need to connect to sim and where can i purchase it from???
Which software do i need, noticed some people use Phoenix, others FMS??

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Ta.

When it comes to sim software... There is no comparison to Phoenix. It is by far the best sim on the market today. Not too sure what the transmitter has in the way of connections, but if its a standard 3.5mm Jack port, then the chances are the lead which comes with Phoenix will plug straight in and off you go. The sim will pay for its self in a very short period of time, and you will never out grow it!

Hopefully someone else will confirm the connection on the tx.

the cx2 controler is perfect for phoenix . the standard cable works. its only 4 channel so you will need to asign extra features to keyboard commands .

Yes the CX2 TX works a dream like Ron said, but TBH flying the CX2 on Phoenix really doesn't prepare you for the Rota wash air turbulence that occurs in the average sized living room, with the furniture and fittings giving varying heights to the floor surface, these are hurdles I'm afraid you have to learn to gain experience.

Like flying over my sofa, when the wash hits the seat cushions and the floor at the same time it drives the CX2 towards the wall, after a while it becomes second nature and you enter commands to counter this from happening.

Plus after a few minutes of hovering or flying in an average sized living room the air becomes quite unsteady and can bump the CX2 around a bit as she enters a turbulent zone, again Phoenix doesn't prepare you for that either, as the smallest room it offers is the Sports Hall.

However what you will find is while flying the BCX2 and practicing flying Trex's as such on Phoenix that it becomes very addictive, and I can tell you this, it won't be long before you want another heli, and the next jump is like the Trex 450 or Blade 400, then Phoenix comes into it's own.

As learning to fly these on Phoenix first is a must, and the more you put in the more your get out of your hobby when a real 400 Class heli is spoiling up in front of you for real.

It's quite an experience I can tell you, exciting and terrifying all at once.

        Best of luck mate.
