Welcome grasshopper!!! We are all a mad bunch, most of us anyway, so feel free to get involved. Where abouts are you based? I'm sure someone on here will be near you and maybe know of any clubs, flying fields etc.

Exactly the same here buddy. Started the same. I have had great advice and I'll pass it on. I've been told to get a blade 200s rx rtf. Just waiting on it being sent to me. Major plus is it haves safe technology where if you get into a sticky situation, flip a switch and it recovers the helicopter. Also get some training balls. The heli is about £180. Have a look On Google. Happy flying.

Well thank you for the compliment, not sure how true that is mind lol

Yes I bought the rtf. There was other options but figured this to be the best. Coming from a cheap twin blade £15 jobbie I thought this best. I might be fine but it's the chance I won't be. Plus I don't want to spend out like you and receive pain by the sounds of it!!

To be honest no. I'm one of them jump in the deep end and tread carefully or think balls to it and go for it. This will be the first option. Got my training balls to put on so now I'll charge it up and have a little solo flight later in the living room. See how long it goes before I crash into the little one lol

I am a little confused that the 200 has AS3X Safe Mode, And the 120 doesn't, but I can fly the 120 to a reasonable crash free standard, and the 200 has a mind of its own? I presume its because the Brushless 200 is a bit too fast for me. Have you tried a simulator ? I have spend so much time on mine I should be a pilot by now, but in reality I am hopeless
I learnt on the Blade 120SR! It doesn't have SAFE mode because it pre-dates the technology. The 120SR was released in 2011 or 2012 I believe. The SAFE technology didn't get built into Blade's helis until 2014 with the 200SRX.

In beginner mode, the 200SRX should have similar flight characteristics to the 120SR - ie. if you let go of the right stick (cyclic), it'll return to a stable hover quite quickly. Only in expert mode does the 200SRX mimic a 6-channel collective pitch in that YOU, the pilot needs to correct any movement - as it won't return to a hover by itself.

To all intents and purposes, the 200SRX is the replacement for the 120SR

Gratuitous video of me flying my 120SR in 2012 ... (date on video is wrong) I had so much fun with that heli!

Sounds like something wrong with your 200srx/dx6i setup. Perhaps you have trims set in the controller maybe? You should not use trims with the 200srx.

if right, the 200srx should hover hands off in a stable manner, especially in beginner or intermediate mode
