I've come on leaps and bounds with these 2 helis and am happy pushing my boundaries each time I go out with either these or something a little bigger. I looped the nano a number of time last night for the very first time. All but one resulted in failure but no damage at all. Ordinarily these are indoor helis but with our current high pressure system they are just great thrashing around the corner of a grassy field.
The OP has a Blade 200SRX which has self-levelling and "panic mode". No need for BD3SX therefore, or really an msrx or nano-cpx - he's got the functionality he needs already. Just needs to move it around a little!

Note to self, read the whole thread before leaping in with advice. I crashed my 200SRX tonight (it is possible). Repair cost = £3.44 although they do fly rather well with 2 and a half tail rotor blades!

Get a lesson with someone like Noel Cross at Midlands.

Gives you you so much confidence which the sim can never do.

Easily the best money I spent when I was just starting out and if I had the time I would get lessons now as you can always learn and improve from the basics all the way up.

There is a little private club just 5 members i looked at so i might pop along next week and they said they would buddy up for a while so it looks good.

Just kidding ya mate ... The probs with learning on the SRX as it really needs to be a steady day or it does the opposite and puts you off even the bailout is useless as it would be. I wish i had started around April and had a month getting an idea and then really going for it but i didn't know about the SRX even when i joined in July. . But now the winds are too much so it’s indoors and the dog has half eaten it once so on a really calm day it’s useful. but running out of them quick

I am doing i think quite well with the 450 now as things are now sticking into place but even then the wind has to be decent as although a good flyer can handle it a beginner it does put you off a bit when a gust of wind throws you out so i am going up a step to a 500 soon and am doing one up at the present and it will be ready soon.

One thing and i hope this helps others starting out is this hobby is much in the mind. I am finding it almost like a game of chess as you are thinking a play ahead all the time so while you are doing a move you have already in your head moved on from that. I have learned too that you have to be in the right frame of mind. I used to have a chat and laugh go out there and i would be going backwards in training. Concentrating and being calm before the flight like most sports will pay dividends. I have seen some turn up not be in the mood and leave and i notice many sit down for an hour calm down from the rat race and then go out. Interesting and for me the way forward for at least a while

One thing is for sure you guys who do that 3D stuff is a real eye opener...
