I've only just started flying around 3 weeks ago.
I must say that I have found using a sim invaluable.
Might I suggest you start there if you haven't already?

Totally agree, Buy the Phoenix sim and you will find its the best £79 you will ever spend.

As for getting lessons, I go the Noel Cross at Banbury (skids n skills) and although he is quite expensive his knowledge and expertise is invaluable..

Your best bet is get the Phoenix then when you know the basic stick inputs etc think about getting some lessons at a later date.
It will save you loads of money.

Had realflight G3 for some time now and quite ok on that but have been considering getting phoenix as ive read g3 is not realistic with regards to heli's.

I have to agree with Steve. Although I have never had lessons from Noel I have been a member of his club for years. Noel is a top guy, a good instructor and I would recommend a visit to him.

                            Noel Cross, flying lessons

Had my first lesson with Noel Cross yesterday, an amazing experience and introduction to proper helicopter flying.....

Noel is a brilliant instructor, his technique leaves you feeling 'in control' but with the added confidence of knowing that he is on the other end of your training lead!!

Well worth the money, have booked another session, plus booked my new T-Rex 450 that I've just built for Noel to set up for me!!!

.............would have to agree with Steve, had my first two hours with Noel Cross yesterday, well worth the money, excellent instructor, feel my confidence has improved loads and now know what a large heli feels like to fly..... All I can hear is Noel's favourite words...."Keep It Level" and "Bring It Back"!!!
