  • transmitter help etc

hi guys brought alot more kit for my x400 heli, spend alot of money only to relize i need to buy need transmitter as mine dosnt have a mixxer or somthing ? i have a futaba challanger 6ch tranny. the heli i got i was told from the shop i got it from can be flown with a 4ch transmitter, now i do have a 4ch transmitter from a lama v3, now can i use this ?

the heli has colective pitch- so how do i wire this up do i use a y lead so the esc and servo goes to one channel ? or how does it work ?

just been testing the esc and motor alone making sure they work etc, when i plug the esc in it will beep until i push the stick to nutral it will beep then motor will work, ive got like all revs from nutral to middle to full, the motor doesnt want to stop typea thing with stick down as fare as it will go and trim down full the motor still turns the blades not very fast at all, is this a idle setting ive got on or somthing ?

    any help would be brillaint

    Thanks
    Rocky

You'll need a 6 channel Transmitter to control an x400 mate.
    In no order:-
    1/Throttle (ESC)
    2/Aileron
    3/Elevator
    4/Pitch
    5/Rudder
6/Gyro Gain- although you wouldnt need the 6th channel if you used a normal rate mode (non heading hold) gyro

As you can see thats 6 channels really. In short no you cant use the Lama v3 TX.
Heres a place that might help you out too - http://www.x400tuning.com/aligngyro.htm
Could be wrong here as i dont exactly know the transmitter but i think your Futaba Challenger will do the job as the x400 is not ccpm and only needs the throttle and pitch mixing typical on mechanical setups. You definately need help from someone here buddy. I wouldnt attempt the setup by yourself.

ok, so what about my futaba challanger 6ch controller. do the servos need to be mixed ?
speaking to somone earlier and they said all servos move together ? on my lama to move foward one moves to move side ways a different one moves.
so can i use my 6ch conttroler or does it need to be a special one ?

Your be better meeting up with boggy or something and letting him show you how to go on.
That helicopter can be very dangerous and the rpm of the blades can do some damage.

your tx will only work if it can mix channels (throttle/ pitch)
