  • Trex 450 se v2 tilts on side.

Hi. I bought Trex 450 se v2 + DX6i and after binding it and checking all things I decided to go on field and try to get in the air but after getting throttle up and spinning main blades heli is starting to tilts on right side, and I've cut the grass a little and winced main shaft. (i have replaced it ) Any ideas what is the reason? Gyro?

    Regards

When you say "checking all things" is the swash plate level?
If you unplug the motor move the collective up and down does the swash plate stay level?
I would not think its the gyro as if its gyro related then you would have a problem with the model pirouetting not tilting over.

Are you new to flying helis? If so, probably a good idea to find some local help to get your heli checked over before you try to learn on it.

I'm kinda new. I was flying on Twister CP Gold and Trex is my first advanced heli. Is there some pilots from Accrington ? or near ?

Did you buy it ready built? These helis need some knowledge of mechanics/ electronics, but you can go through the manual step by step. If it was ready built do you know if the original owner set it up properly or sold it because they couldn't get it figured out? You need to go over the model, check all servos are working in right direction, check they are at 90 degrees at mid stick (disconnect motor or flick to throttle hold) check travel, check rod lengths, check swash for level. Go through the transmitter settings, be sure its set up right, make sure head moves smoothly up and down with no binding.

It wasnt fully ready to flight. And DX6i wasnt paired with heli so i had to set it up from start, I was doing with this video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uxWhzYzMEPY and others from this series. I have als Twister CP Gold so I can say that I have some experience The motor wires are connected with esc with heat sinks so its kinda hard to disconnect them so how can i set throttle hold on dx6i ? Cheers

My 450 does this too and so does my mcpx and msr, i correct it using right stick as it becomes light on the skids. I assumed it was ground effect?

Is this not supposed to happen?

Edit: Watch these 5 videos to check everything is moving the correct way. My dx61 settings (channel reverse and pitch reverse) were different but the other settings i copied and they worked fine.

                DISCONNECT MOTOR FIRST !

I know you want to get this little heli in the air, but I'd find an experienced person to go over it or check settings before you take control. I don't want to sound condescending, but you really need to know what your doing with these how ever big or small. If you have changed main shaft, you would have taken links off the swash ect and they don't just go back together, they will need re-aligning and setting 100% level! with servo arms set at 90*. If you are running a FBL unit on it, some don't like any stick inputs on take off and putting some cyclic input in can upset them. Hope you get it sorted, ask as many questions as you like, we are all here to help

The heli tipping right on take off is not normal. I think you're describing left drift on take off which is corrected by right stick. This IS normal and is due to the sideways thrust of the tail rotor. It's called translating tendency and has nothing to do with ground effect.

OK, levelling mission success but now I can get into the air. I'm going tomorrow to Preston to Wireless Madness shop to buy pitch setting tool, training gear and battery charger. The question is: which battery charger is better : Charger 1 , Charger 2 , Charger 3 ? Is every of them ready to use or I need to buy some wires or sth ?
