    What model?

If it's a cheap one chances are it's pooped. Battery sounds like it has had it.
    Happy Landings.

I had a fixed pitch micro heli from Heliguy.
It was always breaking small linkages and the tail control had a mind all of its own.
Have you tried adjusting the trims on the transmitter to get it back in control?
If that does not help, you could try making very small adjustments on the linkages on the head, try a half turn and see what it does.
They are so light that even a simple indoor change in air direction from a window had an affect.
If its flying in circles forwards and backwards something could be loose in the head.
Has it got a receiver with a combined gyro to help control the tail blades, that may be out.
Have a look at the link below, it may help.
I forgot to mention, if it is dropping slowly, I agree with above comment about the battery getting low, you may be running it to long?
Apologies if above is already known to you, there are lots of far knowledgeable people on the forum than me, I could be talking poop!

Wide circles sounds like 'tbe' - toilet bowl effect. It generally affects fixed pitch single rotor helis with flybars.
