  • what a scream..

I have been practicing with the cx2 and the flight sim as often as i could .
i found a clip on you tube where a guy uses a hover training gadget to practice hovering..(you tube electric-heli training stand )

    so i made one.
    wow

it s bloody brill. i set the blade 400 up on it and had a go at hovering.
I was bloody useless..but the heli cameaway from the session unscathed.

I recharged the batteries and had another go, it was a much better session.
I am amazed at the amount of power it can generate when you open the throttle..
and it did several clean lifts and I had it steady at sort of part lift for a few seconds.

I am working away for several weeks so this gadget and blade is going with me..many evenings are going to be spent improving the gadget, drinking beer and practicing hovering.
has anyone else made one and found it useful...

        that's horrific!

One of those LAMA's will sit in one place in the air for ever if you don't shove the cyclic stick all over the place...

          electric-heli training stand

          Put that in you tube.

I had a look, and made one similar, its not pretty, works to an extent, but is bloody frightening in your living room.

          Think I'll stick to normality!

you were right there.. it was easier to hover it on the ping pong ball trainer than to get it to lift on the gadget.
but it was a chance to see how the sticks altered everything.. and it saved on vacuuming as the downdraught blew all the dust and the cat into the corners of the room.
