  • Trex700S charged?

I purchased a new one and charged it up with a charger that was with it ( some universal connector head that looked like an empty plug? ) for 14 hours and it has come up 5.2 Volts with the bar 3/4 full. Now i am all new to this game but surely it has to be up to around the 10V mark. ?
    Anyone help

Not familiar with TREX helicopters but your post makes it sound like you have a 700 size Trex heli - bit odd for the beginners section.

So is this a beginners helicopter?

only batteries that would take that long would be NiMh batteries and then they'd be fully charged.

You say 10V and from that I guess you'd be aining for 3S @11.1V or 4S @ 14.8V neither of which would be big enough for a 700 size heli.

    What helicopter have you got?

5.2 is fine for that TX and those batteries.
I normally only charge mine for about an hour or so before I flying. If the batteries are getting warm, then they are charged.

        Cheers,

The standard battery is a 4.8V NiMH pack so freshly charged it will reach a maximum of around 5.8V

So 5.2V and 75% full is about right.

Are there better longer lasting battaries or are they good enough

              Hello Bamboo
You can get a turnigy lipo or a genuine Spektrum lipo which charges up to about 8.1 volts. These batteries last weeks for me in my DX7s, but you have to go into the settings menu and change the tx to lipo battery. They take about 24hrs to charge but you can get a lead and charge off of a normal charger a lot faster....

I find the regular batteries easily last a days flying, but if you need more time between charges then the Lipo mentioned above is the only option.

                cheers,
