Best tip I remember is always start with aileron. Let it fall into the turn then correct with rudder and elevator (adding a small amount of collective too). You ideally also need to be able to hover nose in or, at the very least, side in as you'll want to be comfortable in all these orientations for a successful figure 8.Originally posted by 4 props View PostHi. I started with what I called "lazy 8's". By that I mean starting to bring the nose around (about 45 degrees), but otherwise always keeping the tail roughly towards you. Then as you gain confidence, slowly increase the amount you bring the nose around until you're doing a "proper" figure-8.
