every 2.4GHz system has its own code, so its like millions of crystals, supposedly none of which are ever sold twice, you then bind the receiver to only respond to your transmitter code.

    Trex 450SE V1
    - Futaba 2.4GHz.
Bladerunner Micro Mosquito - The toy.
    Pheonix -
The less expensive way to crash.

i dont know about the eflite system but spektrum say upto 80 flying at once is acceptable!! and as rat says no crystals!

and 40 hectacres may provide you with range problems. 100 yds is about max (you cant see which way around it is at that distance anyway!)

        35mhz

Sorry I confused my post earlier. I have the CX2 and I understand thats the 2.4Ghz one with no interference.

I am talking about my friend looking to buy 2 or 3 Lama 4's which appear to be 35 MHz, he would surely have an issue?

So assuming we have 3 different Lama 4's, can we change number 2 and 3's crystals somehow? Do all 4 channel 35MHz radio's have interchangable crystals?
        Current kit / status
E-Flite Blade 400 / boxed, too terrified to trash it.
DX6i :) / boxed atm too, will get it out soon.
Phoenix Flight sim / installed and playing like mad.
E-Flite Blade CX2 / training kit fitted, trying to solve starboard yaw issues. Body cracked.

        Trashed parts list
2 upper rotor sets, 2 lower rotor sets, 1 flightbar.

        On order
        New body kit for CX2

        Current skill level
        Completely clueless beginner.

E-sky make the Lama in 2.4ghz as well now according to their web site, don't know how much they sell for, I think the Lama4 and CX2 are much the same, I have had mine for 4 months now and bounced it off the floor and walls a few times, I have the head upgrade fitted to mine with the extreme skids and Blades, which are very durable ain't broke them yet, also i advise on some spare motors, fly bar and a set of rotor shafts and gears but get the extended ones as the originals seem to cause blade strikes if you get a bit bold, you might as well get a spare canopy set as well, you will break them although you can get away with minor dings with some self adhesive solar film for repairs. tough little helicopters though.

That's right, I saw one advertised saying it uses the 2.4ghz system, but the photo displayed the 35mhz TX, so possibly Esky have got on the band wagon, but haven't updated there sales photo's.

But for indoor use which Contras are really only good for, a flyer wouldn't experience much if any glitches surely? as usually there's only one heli flying in someones livingroom at once?

To give you and example about out door flying, since I've owned my BCX2 I have known only one evening during last summer where the air was perfectly still so to fly her outside with complete confidence, honestly to wind test light a candle, and if the wick is still alight two minutes there after you can fly outside hassle free.

I've flown mine in a very light breeze before thinking I'll be OK, but once that wind enters the Contra blade zone up she goes, and I can tell you it's fairly hairy getting them down by balancing enough power so they don't hit something and loosing height all at once.
