  • Battery Advice for a newbie

    Hello All,

Looking for some up to date advice for the best place to purchase batteries. I have a Blade 120sr and I am now going to try out the Mcpx. I need batteries but as I'm in N.Ireland the options are limited for a bargain. So can anyone recommend a few online shops that ship to N.I

    Cheers

Not really a specific answer, but I tend to use RCFerret : Search all your favourite RC stores in one go now when looking for stuff online. I would imagine most mainland UK shops will ship to NI - isn't it considered local as far as post goes? But when I had my 120SR - I tended to use shops like Kings Lynn model shop, Hobby Hangar, Leeds Model Shop, RC-Hero.co.uk etc. they all seem to give a bit more focus on the the smaller/BNF helis and spares. The larger stores like Fast Lads and Midland have stuff too, but I get the impression they tend to cater for the larger machines more?

I don't disagree at all with your advice Tom but I shop, in person, at Midlands quite a bit, am definitely at the smaller end of the market and have always found what I am looking for. Plus they always have time for a quick chat and are free with their advice when asked. One happy customer.

With Tumbledown being a postal customer I guess Ferret is his best bet.

Used RCFerret and it's a handy tool, however with the restrictions on posting LiPo's it's forcing the postage up. And with some retailers it's already extortionate, some of them think Northern Ireland is just of the coast of Australia if you go by the postage rates I have just phoned my closest hobbie shop, only 16 miles away, and was pleasantly surprised to find they are offering prices comparable to the cheap end of the net. So thanks all for reminding me that local is sometimes better.
