Hi guys been a while since i was last here. But im back and looking for advice, basically i have had helis in the past and can only be described as a newbie. Circuits and nose in hovers, in my arsenal i started with a blade 130x which i loved but always struggled with tail probs and crash damage despite every CNc upgrade out there, then the heli bug took over and got a trex 450 followed by a trex 550 but they never flew more then 6 ft above the ground, ..... Anyway my circumstances changed and i had to sell the above helis, 12 months on and my finances have improved and the heli bug is biting again, so this is where your advice is so important, i want a sub size heli the most fun i had was when i flew my 130x so do i go get another and put up with the constant repairs or get something else like the walkera master cp, been reading some great reviews on it, or maybe something else?. All advise is greatly welcomed.

Balls to the small stuff, they fly well for 12 flights then you upgrade, get a Trex 500 Pro, excellent balance between size and costs,Current Fleet,
T-Rex 500 Pro: Demon 3SX, Revolution/Rail, Blades, DS510M, DSDS655, CC BEC Pro,
Goblin 500: Vortex VX1n, DS510M, DS655, Talon, Scorpion backup guard, Revolution 520 Blades.
Phoniex Sim, DX9, PL8 charger, Fusion 600watt PSU

Where are you planning on flying Steve? If you're a back garden or local park flyer, you really should keep it below 450 size I think. Maybe something like a Trex 250, Blade 300X, Trex 450 or Blade 450x. I wouldn't really advise Walkera due to lack of parts support. If you wanted a 130x size heli but without the tail problems, the brushless mcpx BL is only very marginally smaller, but without the torque tube, it's a whole lot more resilient to crashes.Tom

Ok thanks guys i have a field that i can fly around in so thats not really a prob but like i said before i have had the larger helis and was always a little to scared to fly them, had a blade msr for indoor stuff and the 130x for outdoor so was kinda looking for the next size up from the 130x without the constant battle of getting it to fly as it should. If your not flying .....then make sure you crash with style

Next size up is really a 300 or 450. I would say that 450 is better and certainly there are more options available. If you want ready to fly, the 450x is the best in my view. If you want to build it yourself, then there are loads! The Gaui x3 is a nice heli I think, but you've got the inevitable Aligns, the mini Protos, compass warp 360, the list goes on!Originally posted by stevek32 View PostOk thanks guys i have a field that i can fly around in so thats not really a prob but like i said before i have had the larger helis and was always a little to scared to fly them, had a blade msr for indoor stuff and the 130x for outdoor so was kinda looking for the next size up from the 130x without the constant battle of getting it to fly as it should.Tom

Mcpx BL will take a fair beating, And with a bit of the inevitable bling, its pretty tough
