From the perspective of someone who has just gone through the same, narrowing it down to exactly those choices...

The general impression I got from others was, if you can afford it, the Trex is the one to go for.

The blade having a reputation for being a little finiky and slightly more fragile.

And the Twister looking extremly competitive with ali head, but mixed though generally good impressions of build quality.

One thing to consider is resale value. The blades for sale seem to hang around. The Trexs are gone within days, and I've yet to notice a twister, so prehaps limited uptake bodes poorly for later spares availability?

Like I say, take all that with a pinch of salt since I own none of them yet.

I've just commited to a Trex with Futaba Tx myself.

    Trex 450SE V1
    - Futaba 2.4GHz.
Bladerunner Micro Mosquito - The toy.
    Pheonix -
The less expensive way to crash.

If you can afford it then the Rex is the only choice. You can uprade as and when into SE spec and you'll have the best 450 heli available bar none.

Buy a Blade or Twister. and you'll only wish you'd got a T-rex anyway.

The Hitec servos at £14 each will do you fine and your need 3.

            Gyro's - the Futaba GY401, £100 is quite popular.

Remember the batterys for the 450 are around £30+ a go, and your want plenty of those too mate

              Buy Phoenix sim.

I did what you have I think, twister bell47 co-axial, fly no probs, so bought the Blade400, if you read the posts you'll know how close its got me to packing it in. Unless you are one of the lucky ones who can adapt straight away, it will make you so frustrated.

I had the FMS sim, and could fly the 3d models on that, so assumed, not much difference. Wrong.

Just got Phoenix, and the Blade is on it, it flies exactly the same, very difficult.

But the Blade set up with DX6i is a good place to start. Though the Trex is better build quality, but more expensive. Spares are cheap too.

i had a trex and bought a blade.!! and dont regret it for a second.
im not disagreeing that the rex may be better quality after all it costs more! but the blade and twister storm (lets not mistake it for the old twister)are cracking good heli's and if crashed are cheap and easy to repair. yes they are twitchy but this can be cured very easily. and it becomes a good beginners heli at very little money. and you can allways upgrade once competent and reuse the dx6i

hi ron the rex i was looking at was the 450s combo kx015062 from fast-lad
which still leaves me with some money for spares as i am now 55 and i cant see me getting to many helis i was looking for one that i could learn on and possibly upgrade to a very good one when i become more experienced or i could sell on and buy a better one

                  thanks for your input boggy

ps i was also looking at the futaba g191 gyro
has anybody got any input about these many thanks
