  • Thanks for help and I have decided on a heli

    Hey people,

Thanks for the advice! Very much appreciated!

From speaking to my LHS, I have decided to go for a Twister 3D Storm.

    http://tjdmodels.com/product.jsf?productId=2153

That is from my LHS website and I think is very reasonable and they also sell the DX6i spektrum with reciever for £99.99, so I'm looking at around £235 for a fully functionaly helicopter! What does everyone thing? Anyone had any good or bad experiences? Apparantely it is almost the same as a blade 400 but is cheaper and comes with carbon blades so seems even better for me!

Can't wait to get it. Oh and can you buy any scale fuselages for it such as airwolf.

    Thanks
FOR SALE: Twister Storm 3D...PM me if interested.

it is very similar to the blade but i believe the servo's are not digital.(dont know what difference this makes)and as you say you get carbons. + a decent 240v ac adapter that the blade lacks.
the trex 450 scale fuses should be the right size but they may need a few brackets making to fit them

    you'll love it mate!

I also had gyro problems. J Perkins replaced the fitted HL400 for an HL800 under warranty, and although it is flyable, heading hold mode still no longer works ( bad tail shake that no one can cure). In normal mode, the helicopter flys really well, so I'm happy to stick with this mode. I might try the Futaba GY401 that is fitted to my glow heli and see if it makes any difference.

If your buying the DX6i and the TS doesn't have digital servo's doesn't that mean all new servos need to be added, I don't know I'm just asking?

Also the main blades are a bit in the steep side £25 a pop, hopefully other Blade's will fit, if not that's a fairly big bill every time the mains are twatted.

If the Align 325's £8.99 fit the TS it would be great, and I've seen what a 400 class can do with these Blades and lets just say they don't fail.

I wish you luck and congrats on your new purchase, but I think a check on third party spare parts compatibility would a good idea IE, Blade 400's main blades £10'ish, which don't fit the 450's so it can be quite hit and miss.

She does look the part, well cool.

the servo's being non digital will work with the dx

the blades are carbon and should withstand light crashes quite well.

most of the eflite bade 400 spares will fit exept the frames

hope that clears up a few points mate!!
