  • CX2 or Twister medivac??

    New to the hobby

Ideally want to progress and get an outside chopper but crawl before you can run is a very popular piece of advice

Is the CX2 worth the extra money being on 2.4 etc

I can get the CX2 for £115 abnd the Medivac for £90

Well I own a CX2 and can't speak highly enough of it!!!

I think its excellent, I have crashed it a few times now and spares are cheap for it and readily available so.
It's also quite easy to get the hang off!!

SO I can vouche for the CX2 not flown the Medivac though!!

Can't speak for the medevac, but the BCX2 is a lovely little heli, spares are readily available and pretty cheap if you shop around a bit. Personally I would choose her over the Twister, (if my Skylift is anything to go by) and would go for the Evo Flightpower upgrade batteries.

She's stable as a rock once you get her trimmed right, and she will easily bind to a better DX series TX later on if you get one, in fact, I would say that the DX6i gave mine a wonderful new lease of life, as it makes it really easy to trim and fly.

        They fly the same.

If you do go for the Twister, the blades are the same as the CX2 but cost twice the price, so buy CX2 spares.

I prefer the open fuse looks of the Twister, but they both look good & fly well.

2.4Ghz would settle it for me. No frequency worries. I think worth the extra.

I've got the Twister Bell 47. A lovely heli.. but.. I've had it 3 months and its had to have a new motor, servo and I'm haggling with LMS cos the 3 way giro has gone for the second time. Saying that, it has taught me how to fly contra helis, is easy to work on (has to be with all the replacing I've had to do) and looks the part.
If I was to buy indoor electric again I'd go for the CX2. Its more expensive but I think you do get what you pay for and the 2.4 is a godsend if you're going to fly in a club environment.

I fly the twister, prefer the looks, but the 2.4 of the cx2 swings it.

(i changed my twister over to 2.4)

I have had both and the CX2 beats the Twister hands down
2.4Ghz give better control and sharper response

ive got both and the fly the same. they can both be upgraded with the same parts. but the cx2 has the added option of several different bodies. the 2.4 radio gives you glitch free flying which really is a big plus . and when you do progress there is always the seperate rx that can be borrowed!!

When you get to the point where you feel ready to move away from a heli such as the CX2..
I'm not trying to run before a crawl and I will invest in the Cx2 and Pheonix first but what chopper do you buy after that????

Take no notice of my latest thread mate, my BCX2 has been to Pluto and back, and the motors are knacked.

Go for the Blade, she's a joy to work on, blades aren't the cheapest but once the learning curve and nerves leave you, you won't have many crashes.

But budget for a pack of upper and lower rotas, your kick yourself if you don't mate.

                        Best of luck.

That all depends how much you want to spend.

The Trex 450 SE looks really nice (although its not about looks)

The parts and blades for it dont look too expensive... Something to look forward to for the furture.
