  • Align BL-35X BEC or other?

    Hi All,
New to the hobbie and have just ordered a Trex 450 SE V2 with servos and rx.
My question is do I need to buy a seperate BEC (say like phoenix) or will the included BL-35X do as a BEC or is it just an ESC?
I noticed on the instructional web-site that it only supports 3 servos when using an input voltage of 11.1V.
Obviously there are 4 servos in the Trex, will this be a problem?
    Many thanks in advance.
    Machasm.

Hi and welcome to the forum.
The 450 comes with all you need in that respect as the speed controller runs both the motor and the radio of the main lipo pack.
You do not need an extra bec, this is just for larger helis, i.e. the trex 600 elec that runs a seperate lipo pack for the radio system.
It will run all the servos 3 on the cyclic, and the 4th running through the gyro.
Hope this clears up your worries
    James

      Hi

The older Align 35amp ESC's didn't give quite enough amps out of the BEC to power high spec servo's when 3D flying so did require a seperate UBEC but the 35X is fine and you will not need any addition to this.

      Cheers
