  • Batteries and charger

    Hi guys

Need some advice on which charger to get and some reliable batteries looking for 3s 3000mAh for my quadcopter.

I did get some cheap batteries and one of those imax cheap Chargers off eBay and not one battery has charged correctly, I get issues with one of the cells dropping to 0 while the others are at different levels -_- so the batteries are dead now. Looking to spend about £100 on charger and couple of batteries maybe up to the £150 mark.

    Cheers

A Icharger will work fine for your needs. Try electriflyer , batteries gensace/opti power depends. On your needs really.

What make cells are you after? It's more down to budget, a lot of people seem to love Opti-power, they get some good write ups. They are a little out of my price range if I'm honest so I go a bit lower. I have been using Turnigy cells in my helis since I started and I have had no problems, neither charging nor otherwise. Hobbyking is where I have got mine on occasion. Used to be a guy on ebay called Storm something-or-other from whom I purchased a couple of packs too. You pays ya money you takes yer choice.

Chargers. I have a charger called a Bantam BC6, I've had a it a few years and originally bought it for car racing. There is a version from CML called the powerpal something, about 50 quid. Plenty of others out there admittedly, but bought mine in 2008 and have done many a race meeting (charging all day) since then. Like I say though, plenty to choose from.

                Wow thanks !!

Think I'm going to go with that charger and a couple of the £19 batteries maybe one larger too.

The one problem I have is I have a xt60 connector, should I just change it to JST. Seems most batteries come JST. Or could I cut off the connector and solder on my xt60 ones ?

Ok I've just seen I can select connection type.

Can't see if the charger has xt60 connection though.

                  Cheers

Give Chris a ring before you order I'm sure he can acomidate you, also charger is powerfully enough to charge bigger if you decide to fly something bigger later, also you will need a power supply if you don't have one, guy on here called coolice does them at fair price.
