building a power supply with pc psu. possible?

These in pairs HP ProLiant Server 575W Power Supply Model DPS-600PB P/N 338022-001 321632-001 | eBay
will work fine and they deliver 24v at 49A.... that will drive a PL6 at max output and most other reasonable battery chargers.

Very easy to do and runs a PL6 a treat. There is an excellent how to on TJinTech https://sites.google.com/site/tjingu...ts/diy-24v-47a.

This works out very close to one of Coolice's PSU's cost wise. I have just ordered one through him as it works out cheaper for what I want.

With the coolice unit you also get the fan / voltage management module that protects your charger in event of overload / fault... and makes them run quiet...
