  • Help! I don't know what I've broken

Hi all I'm new to this forum and new to rc heli's my mum got my son one for crimbo after a couple of goes I got on net and ordered myself a blade msr x not really ideal for learning with and I've had to fix it a few tines but I'm loving it anyway! The other day I was having a go in garden an my heli managed to find the only water to crash land in was only about half inch but heli was on it's side I put my transmitter down whipped battery out and stripped it there wasn't really any water in there but dried it off oiled bearings then put it somewhere warm when I went back to it nxt day couldn't find the transmitter managed to leave it out all night on in pouring rain, nightmare! so I've stripped it dried it off an left it 48hrs now when I try to fly the rotor doesn't get up to a decent speed until at least 3/4 throttle on then it just all comes in a burst from floor to ceiling very fast! I've checked my main gear and replaced batterys in heli and transmitter but I don't have a clue wether it was the crash a wet heli or wet transmitter! please help.

Water and electronics dont mix well. Order a new transmitter (EFLH1064, unless you have a better Spektrum Tx in which case, gutted...) and see if it works, if not you may have to then get a new receiver/fbl controller (BLH3201) but it may just be cheaper and easier to buy a new heli and start again? It sounds like the water has got right into the transmitter and damaged the electronics. It doesn't sound like a mechanical issue from the way you have described it. If the blades and main shaft/gear rotate freely by hand with no power applied and all the plugs are in the right way and tight then the only other options are liquid damage to the motor, Tx and/or Rx. Moral of the story: Don't leave ya shit in the rain!

I once landed my Mcpx in a lake! When I say 'landed', I meant 'crashed'

Took it out. Dried it out and flew it again.

Sounds like your Tx is fooked. It may dry out after time.

As above. A DX6i would be a good investment but it may be a better idea to get a friendly DX6i owner to programme in your heli just to check.
        Happy Landings.
