  • Done all I can

My BCX2 has now got to go back to the supplier, as I have no idea why she crabs in forward flight (nose 1 O'Clock position and tail in the 7 """") plus she's terribly unstable in flight and just to add the cherry on top after trying to adjust linkage arm lengths she's now developed an interesting wobble while in hover flight.

Basically I now give up, the more I try and remedy the problem the more I seem to exacerbate the situation.

Before this I could control her on a dime, or hurtle her from one and of the living room to the other at full whack totally in control and enjoying every minute, now she'd borderline dangerous so far as having a mind of her own.

I've checked all the shafts and there all straight, I've stripped her down to the bones and rebuilt her and still this continues.

    Bugger, Bugger, Bugger!!!!!

Daft as it sounds mate the problem could be electrical...ie you could have a motor under performing due to the motor itself being ballsed or one motor speed control output from the 3-in-1. (If indeed they are seperately controlled-Not sure)
You adjust the proportion pot to counteract the yaw effect from the slower motor which steadies the tail but you have a reduced headspeed on one pair of blades & hey presto a low speed wobble & instability in flight...Just a thought?

Edit yeah they must be seperately controlled for the yaw control...

Now you mention it the wobble did start after some major adjustments, but I've been through every proportional pot adjustment took her apart, and to be honest it's beaten me this time, I haven't a clue what to do next.

Your idea about a motor no being up to par makes perfect sense, they have had a hammering since I've owned her and I guess they have a limited "in use" life span, possibly one is one it's last legs, but for the sake of recorded post I'll be posting her back.

Thank you all the same Gazman, your suggestions were very welcome.

        Hi Cambs Flyer...

I gave my father my CX2, he lives in Wisbech, not a million miles away for Chatteris as I recall. Where is the nearest shop that sells CX2 parts since he won't be doing any ordering over the web. ta

Sorry to hear that mate, once you get something like that it's a cow to put right. Sometimes it seems to go too that no matter how hard you try you get nowhere, then another day will come when it all just goes right and the problem is resolved. Still, as you say, recorded post should see you right, they should get you sorted.

            HI SC

If your Father lives in Wisbeach then he's only 15 miles away from me.

The best place by far is Inwoods in Huntington, just a tip, if he needs to discuss a problem try and go during the week, as on Saturday's there pretty bogged down, and there have more time for him on a week day.

Plus there's a few guy's there who are serious heli flyers, Nick is very knowledgeable and I'm sure there fix he's issues in next to no time.

Simple directions once in Huntington Just passing the Tesco Superstore is as follows.

            Stukeley Ind' Est':-

You need to go past the Tesco superstore, over the next roundabout (Audi garage on right).
Next left into ind est (before the Ford garage)
Down to the end, turn left, and left again.

            Hi JB

Cheers mate, she's off this afternoon so hopefully I'll have her back next week sometime, it's annoying as there's only so many things that can cause this problem, but after a few hours head scratching, back to the shop she goes.

They fly beautifully when they are right, mine even handles the FC1 really well now, at least with Evo Flightpower batts in. Just can't pull anything harsh or it dumps all it's altitude.

That's right, when there up to speed and you know what your doing there a joy to fly.

Up to this point I've managed to sort out any problems myself, and enjoyed the learning experience, but this has become a total pain in the arse.

TBH with Lama 4's going for around £60 I'm tempted to buy one of those, as indoor flying the 35mhz isn't going to cause many issues, plus the blades and batts are dirt cheap.
