To set up a nitro helicopter your looking at around 700-800 pounds and all the starting gear then add on a Transmitter....
Buy the right model and the right kit for it your looking at around 1000 pounds
Find a Local club go visit them and see what they fly etc they will recomend models as well and you'll get good help or should do!

got some gear in loft cause i fly electric planes now and dont own ic plane now.Originally posted by Leebert View PostIf you're lucky, you might find a 2nd hand 30 or 50 for around 3 - 400 quid but then you will need starter, glow bottle etc. You may already have that if you fly planes
so which heli would you recomend as first ic for flying/spares etc thanks:coolgleamA:twister storm 3d:coolgleamA:

50 size are more stable in the air than a 30. I flown a rappy and a Knight 50 and prefer the Knight but the rappy will probably be easier to get hold of 2nd hand off the BMFA classifieds or E-bay. There's also a sceadu and trex 600 to consider and a few others I haven't thought ofOriginally posted by rich3d View Postgot some gear in loft cause i fly electric planes now and dont own ic plane now.

If you want a heli that flys well then the Knight sport as a stock peice of kit will out perform the raptor. If you want a helicopter that nearly everyone has flew at some point and you can get spares easily almost anywhere. Then go for the Raptor. Me personally looking from a beginners point of view id go for the Raptor. Simply because its easier to work with and you'll never be short of a person thats had experience with them. This does not mean that the knight sport isnt as good a helicopter. The facts are that it is really, its just at this point in time its probably best not to just go jumping in feet first. Learn to setup a Raptor and it will give you the basics to set up most helicopters. When the bug gets you, then you can go get a Knight 3D and learn to setup ccpm on it.Originally posted by rich3d View Postiam looking to upgrade to ic helis, but dont know which one, told to go 50 so i dont have to upgrade later. should i go new or try to buy second hand, also could any body tell me the cost of setting up ic heli from scratch thanks

I agree and the raptor is a much easyer user friendly helli to set up and flies well too , i also used cheap 3001 servos all round to get me started and were perfictly suitable for my hovering around but a decent gyro such as the futaba 401 and 9254 servo £150 is a must and dont skrimp here cos it is a mustOriginally posted by Made2Fade View PostIf you want a heli that flys well then the Knight sport as a stock peice of kit will out perform the raptor.
