  • Twister 3D Storm Set UP

    Hi Everyone,

I just bought my new Twister 3D Storm Helicopter, thought it would be easy to set it up, just by following the instructions on the manual provided with the package. But no luck at all. I have followed the steps accordingly to the manual several times, can't get the tail blades pitch to change. But it turns as the main blade turn.

I have entered all the recommended pitch and throttle settings on the transmitter (JR Spectrum DX7). Have reversed all the channels, selected the swashplate type (3 servos/120 CCPM) and now can't even get the front servo to work.

Can someone please help me, your help will be much appreciated.

    Cheers,
    Francisco Kratschmer

iv heard that some of the gyros on the storm are faulty from new, iv never had a problem with mine though, you could try by passing the gyro to see if the servo is working ok.

      Gyro and battery packs

      Hi Mark,

Thanks for your reply. I kind figured out that the front servo was faulty, as it still covered by the warranty, I will go to the hobbies shop next week. By the way, sorry I have another question, you may be able to help me out with this one. The Twister Storm already comes with the main battery pack, normally when you buy your transmitter it also comes with a small battery pack for operating the servos. Do I have to include this small battery pack for operating the servos as well or will the main battery pack compensate for the small one?

And with the Gyro HL400, did you have to alter the switches configuration on the gyro itself?

      Thanks Mark

      Have a good one.

Cant help with the setup of the gyro but the servos run offa the main lipo battery as it does away for the need for the extra rx pack as the speed controllers drops the voltage to the rx and servos

Yer, I have a T3dS myself, I have had lots of problems with it myself, The gyros are horrible, it takes me about 10 minutes every flight to get it working correctly, I do not truct it, I am gonna buy a much better one soon. You only need that extra battery when you are flying a glow/ nitro/ petrol heli etc because the motor runs on petrol, not electricity! the switches on my gyro are as follows: reverse is set to R and servo is set to DIG (MAKE SURE it is set to dig, or else it wont arm properly) Believe it or not, when I went to look at the switches to tell you what my settinga are, I found out that my gyro was set to an not dig, and since the servos are digital, that is the reason why my servo was never arming properly, so I just turned it on then when i switched it to dig and it armed correctly first go I hope this help you, and If you need any more help on the setup or settings on the t3ds, do not hesitate to ask me, just private message me though

          Thanks alot, Lincoln.

helibo sorry dude but your wrong! the gyro should be set to normal! setting it to dig' will burn out the std servo's(even though they are digital)

btw this thread is 9 months old

OHH S*** lol I didn't know that, I am changing it back to an, I just thought that putting it to dig will tell it I am using a digital servo, therefore making it work much more efficient then in that case, my gyro is crap, so should I replace it? if I should, what could I replace it with and will it work with the heli?

              Thanks alot, Lincoln.
