Hi I am a complete novice, well to helis anyway.
I have just purchased a blade cx2, and pheonix simulator software, spare blades, skids, training ping pong balls on sticks and extra batteries. having major problems getting the trim right, but i will get there in the end( need to get it to a bigger venue to sort it.)
the sim is fun but i am not convinced the controller is set up right on it as yet..because i can fly the blade on the sim, but it crashes into the windows in the conservatory.
i can see a few open wallet occasions ahead..

      hi ted welcome.
youve gone about it the right way. the cx2 phoenix combination is the perfect start.
always start your flights with the trims centered.
get the heli light then a quick push on the left stick to jump it into the air! then try and catch it with the right stick. if youve got training gear on you should be ok!
or another method is use a smooth floor (not tiled) and slide the heli around to get used to it. which ever you are most comfatable with.
try trimming the heli after youve run about a minute out of the battery.

make sure you download the latest phoenix 1.05f update and all of the extra scenes and models then might see you in a multiplayer session later.

also you should think about getting a headset so you can voice chat using teamspeak whilst you fly.
