  • Another Noob Checking In

    Hello fellow Heli-Addicts,
Yet another newbie to the RC world. Started out at Xmas with an aeroplane from my wife which has only managed to fly once due to work commitments and lousy weather so I`ve moved onto Heli`s as well to get some flight time, albeit in the house.
I`ve had a Blade CX2 for just over a week now. Plenty of blades trashed but having great fun. Also bought a Esky Honey Bee King 2 for when the skills get better.
I`ve just programmed my Spektrum DX7 to fly the CX2 and find it great.

Well thats me so far. Great informative and useful site.

    Regards
    Tony

    well done and welcome.

Don't know where your flying the Honey bee, but they can be a bit of a handful unless trimmed out. once they are trimmed out they are a fairly good flyer, I had one a fair time back(although not the v2) so I would suggest if you havn't already get someone who can fly to take a look at it and get it all sorted, you'll enjoy it more and it'll save you some money in spares

    have fun
    All the best
    Tony.

Welcome to the world of having no money ever again Tony..

As Mike says invest in a Phoenix sim as soon as possible mate.

People use them from the very first stage of learning to fly helicopters up to the best pilots around...Ade Law/Trevor Burley/Ashley Davies/Boggy..

Seriously invest in one from the start, That £79 will save you hundreds in the long run.

                    Welcome matey

all good advise above.. sorry about boggy's comments.. he's frustrated...

My advise is bite size bits.. perfect one thing and then move on to the next

it's only stick time that counts to be proficient and competent in flying... a modest amount of intelligence can help though... more so when it's time to quit

Thanks for your warm welcome and advice. I`m currently using FMS free sim but will most likely go for the Phoenix soon.

                      Cheers

                        hi all

Tony your story sounds like mine i bought a blade cx 2 a few months ago and i was using FMS, then i bought phonix and quickly progressed to a honey bee which because of the sim time i can now fly reasonably well for someone who has only been doing it a few months, i can hover side on nose in and do circuits and 3d stuff (sim only ) i totally reccomend this sim it also gives you the stick movements for when you do the 3d stuff , its so much better crashing on the sim than in real life less expensive even if it saves 1 crash the £80 is such an investment and now i have a T-Rex 500 on order Yippie
