  • Just want to say Hi

    Hi to everyone on here

Just wanted to introduce myself as I have been after a model helicopter for a few months and after some extensive research on mainly this, and various other websites and forums, I have finally bitten the bullet and ordered a Blade CX2 and phoenix sim. Following most of the advice on this forum I have also ordered a spare battery and a few spare blades and landing gear as I know I will crash the first flights and weeks!

Thanks to all those who have posted in the beginners forum with some useful tips, hopefully I wont pester you too much with some daft questions in the coming weeks.

Welcome to the funny farm Steve

You won't go wrong with that set-up. Plenty to practise inside and (on still days) out.

No problem with pestering - Everyone here can help on something or another
    Cheers, Lee.

Twister Bell 47 led me to a Blade400!

Only had two weeks experience of helis, Doh!

Talk about running before you can walk, dont fall into same trap as I did.

After 3 months I can now fly Bell47, and just getting hang of hovering the wee beastie, that shall be known as 'The Blade400'!

Believe me, you need a big bank balance AND a VERY understanding wife/partner/husband!

Welcome to the land of the nervous twitch.

                        Thanks guys and gals

Made me feel welcome, especially the bits about losing the bank balance and the probability of getting a bigger and better heli!

All I have to do now is wait til the courier turns up!

                        Cheers all!!

Hi, welcome to our home. You picked a good choice mate, but take a tip:

a/ stay on Phoenix, (use the sports hall and turn on light winds (4-5mph) until you never, ever crash the bcx2.
b/ put training gear on your real BCX2, I wish I had.

Oh, and C/ prepare to lose ur heart to that little heli.
                          John

The Heli has arrived! Happy days! Feel like a pig in a certain substance!

The Phoenix has not arrived yet but just a question about it before it does, has anyone had any trouble with using Phoenix with Vista?

I know my laptop will handle it as the laptop spec (4gb Ram, 1gb graphics, 500GB hard drive space etc) is well in excess of the minimum required spec needed but I know Vista does has some moments of madness with various software.
Also (and I probably should have checked when I ordered it) does Phoenix come with the connectors for the CX2 transmitter and if so, what connection does it use to plug to the pc?

                            Steve
