  • Esky King 2 - Ran before I could walk

Or should I say crashed before I could fly. New to rc helicopters I recently bought a King 2. Intention was to practice on a simulator first, but I couldn't get hold of a cable (I was told that a cable wasn't available for the 6 channel tx...don't know how true that is!!).

Impatience got the better of me and I couldn't wait. First attempt cost me blades & boom strut, 2nd attempt yesterday cost a lot more

As it was behaving oddly I'm not sure it was set up well (linkages & servos). Couple of points I'd appreciate some help with...

    1. Any source of info on setting up and carrying out repairs (I have the Chinese/English manual, but I can still see me sitting with a bag of rotor head bits and no clue).

    2. Is there a sim cable available for the 6 channel tx, and any advice on suitable free/cheap sim software.

This was my first heli, its now on ebay untill the weather cheers up!

Have you had anyone set it up for you? Theres a guy called neil i went to see, found him through ebay and he set mine up great, and with a couple of hours guided flying (i never knew you needed to counter the tip and tail movement on take off for example) i managed to hover for a lipo with a few bounces!

Previously i bust 2 sets of blades and a feathering shaft!!

You can buy a lead for the standard ESKY tx, from heliguy, ill dig a link out if nobody beats me to it!

The guy who set mine up set another forum users up by post and return, he also stocks spares so could sort yours out if you get stuck im sure.

Dont waste your time with the cheep/free sims... get Pheonix!

Re setting up yourself theres a basic how too on your tube, im sure the link is here somewhere!!
