I got some batteries from Hobbyking for mine (does that count??), these ones Turnigy nano-tech 260mAh 1S 35-70C Lipo Pack (QR Ladybird/Genius CP/Mini CP) and they give 8 minutes plus (well they did the last time I used them but not used it for a while) The whole order for 4 off including shipping came to a whopping $14.95 and only took about 7 1- days to get here. Not got any upgrades for it as it flies well just as it is but I believe you can get prop protectors for it which I can see being a good idea for a beginner Hubsan H107-A12 - Hubsan X4 Quad Copter Propellor Protection Safety Cover

newbie with hubsan x4 problem
There is a thread somewhere, you have to take the motor out and pinch it top to bottom with pliers/pipe grips. Sorted mine out several times!Originally posted by markyboy782 View PostOk so new problem lol. The quad seems to be spinning round one motor though it does seem to be spinning maybe not as smoothly as the others though, surely it can't be on the way out already! Do you think maybe something is caught in it? If so will a bit of wd40 or 3in1 get it going?

Just a couple of pointers as a fellow noob with a Hubsan as a first quad.
First off, if you cannot take off, its possible you have the rotors on wrong. As well as Black and White, they are also marked A and B (very faint near the centre). Your manual will tell you which way round to put them. If you have chucked it let me know and I'll tell you which way round to put them. If they are wrong, instead of lifting, two of the props will try to push the quad down.
Mine pretty much hovers on its own. If you are having problems keeping it in a hover, then I would have to say you have problems. Check the trims are all centred (50 - you will hear a beep when you get there). With it all centred, I can lift mine up and it will just creep slightly which you can sort using trims.
If you are crashing a lot... get yourself a guard, they are £5 off ebay. I have crashed mine so many times, even a 25ft drop onto paving and it just keeps going. I'm still on my first set of rotors as well, definitely worth the investment. I also found it made the quad a lot more stable.
Are you using the Hubsan in Expert mode? That makes the controls more sensitive and increases the amount of power you have (harder to fly).
I'm happy to offer any help where I can, just let me know.
