  • Align 250 setting it up

Hi out there, quite new to this helicoptering lark only been only been pouring my hard earned into the local model shops for about 14 months now just buying mostly blade bind and fly small stuff. so getting cocky bought a t rex 250kit. Putting it together no problem, then I thought, I know the latest copy of rotor world has a whole feature on how to set up the ccpm throttle and pitch curves as well as a lot of other stuff. Well I have tried. I dont know weather I,m just thick or Im not using my DX8 correctly. can any body out there tell me when I set up as per the books why I cant get negative pitch at low or zero throttle. Or is there a setting up a helicopter for Dummies video . Safe flying jim.

What are you getting at zero stick then? When you set up, were your throttle and pitch curves linear, ie 0-25-50-75-100, dual rates 100 and expo inhibited, full travel on servos, basically fresh start on tx If you have set all servo rods right length as per manual there should only be slight adjustments needed. Check main shaft length, it might be the wrong one was supplied.

If you have levelled and setup the swash plate at mid-stick in accordance with the Align manual also levelled at max positive and max negative pitch. Then it sounds as though you have not mapped the flight mode switch functions. However, these may be informative.

This is an old thread by now so I suspect the OP has either sussed it, given up or crashed, but something that nobodies asked yet, which is pretty important IMO: is this the traditional flybarred 250 setup or one of the newer flbarless DFC versions with 3GX ? Makes a big difference to the setup procedure.

From the contents of Jim's post there is no mention of a 3GX flybarless system, only set up the CCPM throttle and pitch curves in connection with a DX8 transmitter with regards not getting negative pitch. Nevertheless, here is a youtube video on the 3GX SETUP(for V2.0?V2.1?V3.0 and V3.1)
