    If you decide to go for a 500 or bigger (as above, build your own, Align manuals are pretty good), I would suggest that you get a decent Flight SIM to do some take off / hover practice before the real event. Crashing a 450 is very much cheaper (and you will, we all still do!) than a 500/550/600 size heli. Also you need to be ready for more expensive flight packs for the 500+ size heli's.
    Right, after all the doom and gloom, get yourself a heli, you will love it, it is really addictive, fun and gives you a real sense of achievement, oh and join a club (as previously suggested)
