  • Speed controller for my Eco 8

Hello - I am building up an Eco 8 electric helicopter and need to decide what ESC to fit to go with the brushed motor already fitted.

I have been looking at a Kontronic 40.6.12, a JES350 and the Ikarus Heli 4000 ,all of which, I believe , might be suitable.

If anyone out there has used any of these with an Eco 8 I would be most grfateful for their comments as to which might be best for this heli.

    Many thanks - Bob.

I have to say up front I,ve not had a Eco8 but I think it will be similar to a Kalt Whisper I had many moons ago .
Obviously you need a brushless esc capable of handling the current you expect to generate which must be between 45 and 60 amps I would have thought .
I have recently been using Castle Creations Pheonix esc for a Zoom they are brilliant and can be programed on the computer via a lead interface.
Check out this site - I don't think you will need to buy from the states unless you want to as they're available here.

Gyro wise the 401 will be great for the Eco 8

If it's not fun, your not doing it right !!
