  • Lipo help !

Hi i ran my GL450 the other day till the lipo went low, i then forgot and got it out and ran it up in the living room to check the blade tracking and the motor died completley. I.e i ran the lipo dead by mistake, I re-charged it this am but the power just isn't there. i can lift off and hover but not untill nearly full stick. It is definantly the battery everything else is working fine.

Have i killed the lipo or should i cycle it through again ?

Quite possible that you have kill the lipo.

2.9 volts per cell is the magic value not to go below, if you ran the motor until it stopped it would of taken it well below that.
    Cheers Matt

You could try cycling the battery to see if it comes back, otherwise its a dead-un

I you have a charger that displays how many mAh you put back into your battery on a charge you can then work out how long you can fly the model for.

80% discharge is the max you should take out of a battery
                Cheers Matt

I have found that as the battery starts to reach its effective limit you will have to make some minor corrections on the rudder trim. once that happens I usually land and change battery / re-charge

                    Thanks for that!
I was just wondering if the larger helis have som esort of meter on them or is it really just watching out for the signs of loss in power??

Cant think where would be open on a Sunday Buzz. I'm in Bracknell so not too far away.
As regards lipos I install a blue led as used on twister hawks etc. Flashes when its time to land. their about £ 5 each, well worth it.

Pretty easy to fit i would imagine. Try any of the big heli shops thats what i will do

I got mine from a seller on fleabay, but any lhs that sells twister helis would be able to get them. They are only for 2 cell lipos (3.7v) though. Part number is 6600371. They are wired directly across the battery.
