  • Broken Blades

    Hello,

My daughter and I have just bought a Carson Hughes 500, and proceed to fly it straight into a wall and smashed the blades. Well actually I did the flying and breaking bit. It did come with spare blades but my untamed enthusiasm to fly it made me repeat the process and break both sets of blades.

I have searched the internet for Carson/Hughes replacement blades and there doesn't seem to be any specific replacements coming up, there are ones for other makes but not this one. Is it possible to by spares or use spares for another model?

A safer location for a test flight has been located, we just need the helicopter now.

    Many Thanks,

Hey. I am sure the manual will have a parts list in it somewhere so google the part number for the blades and that should give results. If not your local hobby shop should be able to get hold of some for you. I wouldn't recomend using any other blades other than the ones designed for the heli as it could cause more problems than its worth

        Hi

        Thanks for the reply,

I found the blades on Amazon of all places (last place I checked) and I found the other bits in a UK shop that ship to Spain, soooo hopefully we are covered and can start again sometime soon in a less dangerous place. I think we should have bought a more common model than the first one that we liked in the shop!

        Thanks for replies, very appreciated.

Have a look at the blade range. The msr or msr-x is a good place to start with a decent tx like the DX6i. A simulator like phoenix will help as well. The sim will pay for itself. The most important thing about a first heli is survivability.

          Multiplex Cockpit Tx, DX7, DX6i
          Blade 130-X, MSR, MSRX
          Phoenix Sim

Thanks for the advice. Unfortunately we (I) thought the big hughes looked great and didn't think about spares. We will have another go and the pass it on and pick up another one, thanks for the tips.
