  • Help Needed - Tail Pitch Assembly

Newbie here...... I am trying to replace a broken ‘T’ type arm on the tail pitch assembly on a Trex 450 plus DFC.

My problem is that having removed the ‘set’ screw (which appears to be the sole securing screw), I still cannot remove the tail rotor holder from the tail rotor shaft. Am I missing something? The tail assembly is still solidly connected to the metal shaft. I don’t want to use brute force, but I cannot see anything else securing these two parts.

    Any suggestions please!!

Problem solved!! I think loctite may have seeped between the shaft and assembly. Hot water from the kettle and some vigorous wiggling released it.

Was just about to reply! The manual (if you don't already have it) can be found here . http://www.ronlund.com/mm5/part_find...n%20Manual.pdf

Thanks 'tomatwalden' I have a copy of the manual. Not covered in this case, I think it was over zealous use of 'loctite' that caused the issue.

I wish!!! It belonged to a friend, it is me in the photo driving it though.

It is an original 1966 RHD 427 cubic inch (7.0 litre) registration number COB 2. It was worth more than my house when this photo was taken.

Great. It looks lovely. I would be happy with a replica but have neither space nor funds.
