  • 90 size weights on 50 size flybar

As above really, I know that they are a bit bigger than the 50 size, but if I tighten up the grub screws they seem to be secure. Is this ok??

What heli is it and what weights are the 90 size paddles? Basically my biggest concern would be having them come off when spun up to flying speeds. If they are for a 4mm fybar they won't be gripped at all by the threads on a 3mm flybar and I'd be worried that the grubscrews alone won't be enough.

What I was getting at in asking the paddle weight is to try to get an idea what you're trying to acheive, light, heavier, more cyclic speed, less cyclic speed, a more stable hover, etc. etc. Put simply, why do you want to put the .90 paddles on there?

Im not trying to put 90 paddles on, I have 50 Radix on it and need to tone them down a bit. I only have a spare set of 90 weights and need to know if they will tame it down.

Id rather put a set of tt standard black paddles or even heavy hirobo ones than chance it putting 90 size weights on bud!

Doh! I was thinking you were talking about putting 90 size paddles on there. If you have 50 size paddles and you're just adding weights then yeah the grub screws should be fine. All the weights I have used are held only by a couple grub screws and worst-case the weight is resting on the paddle as well. Just as long as there's no way they can fly off and then balance your flybar with the weights and paddles as closely as possible.

On my Raptor 50 V2 I recently installed the GeForce mixer arms which really gave the cyclics a big boost. I went back to the Raptor black paddles which are about 30 grams and this works very well (the flybar ratio is 1 to 1 with those mixer arms). This gives me very good stability in a hover and still snappy cyclics for the aero stuff.
