  • The paddle blowout

Just a quick 'heads up' for anyone with flybarred helis, Fast Lads have almost all their paddles marked way down (I suspect paddles are not selling these days like they used to and have been made redundant in most folk's heli fleet).

So for anyone still using the trusty old flybars, you can now get some very good paddles super cheap. I just got a nice pair of V-blade paddles for a fiver.

Thanks, but I think I'm a bit old now for canoeing.

I don't seem to need to replace paddles. I am still on the original sets on both of my flybarred helicopters. I bend quite a few flybars though. I will have a look in case they are reduced also.

Yeah paddles tend to be something that once I get them working the way I like on a particular heli they stay put. It just happens that I have a couple flybarred nitro helis in the works now and both can benefit from better paddles than they came with. Plus I do like a little bling.

Absolutely. If you're gonna have paddles you may as well have nice 'designer' ones, fancy colours, carbon weaves, little metal bits with grub screws etc.

I haven't had to buy a flybar in a long time so I haven't seen the dwindling stock of which you speak but I'm sure it's true. I do have spares for the Robbes and the SDX. I just realised that the RJX Extreme has a 4mm flybar, so the V-paddles won't fit and I supposed they'll go on the Knight now.

At the moment I still have 9 flybarred helis if I count my Raptor 50 which is due to be retired and the Beam E4 which I was thinking about converting to FBL, so if I remove those two I'll still have 7 flybars on the go. The SDX and Robbe Futura/Milli flybarred heads are just too good to change them out and they keep me reminded just how good a flybar can be. The rave flybar head is very good as well but I have converted mine to the dark side.
