  • FiGlass vs Woodies (for learning)

I am tempted to learn with FiGlass blades, instead of woodies, as I have been told that there are different characteristics of each.

Apart from the cost issue, are there any disadvantages to doing this ?

There aren't any real advantages though. I can't see the heli hovering any better on glass blades over woods.

yes the model may fly better with composite blades but! whether the difference is sufficient and noticable by a novice i doubt! theres also the extra cost to consider

          Thanks guys.

I was wondering what the pro's and con's might be.

At what stage might a flier move from woodies to figlass / CF ?
Is there a hard and fast rule ?

Simply when you stop having to replace them regularly.

Composite blades are generally stiffer and won't flex as much, so the model is supposed to be more stable.
I wouldn't consider them until I was into ff.
