  • 450 Pro Best Main Blades for Newbie?

    Hi all,
Recommendations please, just got a 450 Pro from Three6ty in the for sale section of this forum currently has Torsion main blades (which are quite expensive I think?) but considering this is my first real heli, I want some blades that are reasonably cheap as I'll probably crash but good quality as I don't want vibration and balance issues. What's the best tape to use to balance the blades as well please?
    Cheers.
    Rob.

I don't know if align still makes them, but I would suggest woodies whilst learning.

These slightly cosmetically flawed carbon blades are super cheap: Align 325D 3G Slight Seconds Carbon Main Blades only a few quid more than woodies, which are also a great choice. Carbons I find always fly the most accurate.

If they go out of stock then here is the normal condition blades: HD320DT 325D 3G Carbon Fiber Blades

You don't really need to use tape these days on blades, but if you do have to then just use normal sellotape, apply to the COG of the blade (roughly near the center).

I've been using the cosmetically flawed Align blades for a while they work fine and a lot cheaper.

Totally agree, they disintegrate saving the head components. I got my crashing down to once every couple of months before going to carbon and a higher head speed.

The car park at work still has little fragments of wooden blades here and there!

Standard Align D blades. Cheap 3D blades from Hobbyking were good to.

i learnt with woodies at about £2.50 a pair. they also take a lot of the impact when you crash saving the head just that little bit more. keep your HS below 2400 with woodies though....after lots of research i found that to be the max RPM for them.
