  • main blades wanted for raptor50 v2 md530

im getting some vibration on my rappy 50. its got a pair of carbon jp 600 blades on it. the heli flys great and the blades are tracked perfect but im worried about the vibes.
i have been told by a club member that he had the same jp blades on his and they are not very good at all and i should get a better pair.
any fellow heliaddict out there got a pair they can sell me?
    cheers

JPs fly very well for the money you pay. sure they arent as nice as radix but they do fly.

have you checked they are balanced? its quite easy to do. dont need a fancy blade balancer just a ruler, string and some insulation tape,

hi ade, no ive not checked them. ive not done it b4 and unsure how to do it properly. like i say - it flys great and they seem to be tracked perfect.
im just trying to get rid of the vibes.
my heli is the raptor 50v2 in a md530 and its the gun pods and tail which is the main concern of vibration.
      cheers

Take your ruler and hold it on its edge

balance each blade accross it and mark the position where they balance.

compare each blade adding insulation tape to the tip or root of a blade to make them match.

now bolt the 2 blades together and hang them from the bolt add tape to the balance point of the lieght blade to make it balance.

I used to use JP 600`s,,most were pretty good but i did get the odd pair that balanced Ok but were out of track and vibrated when on my Rappy 50

This may sound really stupid but try swapping the blades around, this has sometimes cured it for me

if it still vibrates after you have balanced the blades then it could be a resonance being setup in the pods. you could try a higher or lower headspeed.

I had the TT MD530 briefly and found it needed a perfectly smooth set of mechanics and i ran a lowish headspeed of around 1600..

Maybe you could run your blades on a pod n boom to see if they are Ok or run another set of blades, maybe somebody elses on your MD530

I've got JP 600s on my Sciddly Doo at the moment. Not as nice as the SAB carbons I had before, but then they are only a fraction of the price, so all-in-all I rekon they're excellent value for money.

                No complaints here.
