  • Alternative blade cp pro 2 blades?

    Hi all,

I am tired of the covering coming off my overly expensive wooden e-flite cp pro 2 main blades. The genuine e-flite carbon ones are 20 quid!

Been looking around for some cheap chinese type alternative blades but i just cannot find any. There are cheap blades on ebay for every heli made but none for cp pro 2.
Has anyone else found a cheaper alternative to the e-flite blades for a cp pro 2?

My brother in law who is a raw beginner has one of these and was using up a pair of blades every time he used it, so it was becoming very expensive. I eventually managed to find him some ESKY wooden blades which are 240mm and we got around 10 pairs for £10.00 from HK.

I have not got anymore details to hand at the moment but if you cant find these through Google, drop me pm and I will try to find the details for you.

Same problem for me,and they are not cheap. Its not that i am even hitting them but as soon as the covering takes the slightest tap then it all strips off.I want some carbon ones but the e-flite ones at 19.99 is a **** take considering the blade length
I think 240mm is a longer than standard,is that right?
Is that 240mm measured from the bolt hole to tip or root to tip?

The ESKY Honeybee CP2 blades (part number EK4-0000) ones are longer at 246mm long from the tip to the end of the blade grip but are a little bit stiffer also. Aliciajay have them on their EBAY shop at £3.95 a pair inc p&p until you can find the HK discount sites. Would not try carbons on the CP Pro 2 whilst you are learning, as the other thing that is weak is the combined maingear/mainshaft (approx £6.00 a time) where the gear seems to shed teeth and the shaft bends even in a mild blade strike. I may try the century auto rotation gear and shaft mod when my B in L wrecks it next time.

Is it ok fitting longer blades then?
I wasn't sure.I have stopped hitting my blades now so I am considering carbons.loads of cheap 205 and 240mm blades out there.just wasn't sure if they would fit
What was the main shaft mod you mentioned? I have fitted 3 new ones now.they do seem weak

            Hi,

The site I found useful when repairing my Brother in Laws Blade CP was and it has details of the main gear mod and the bell hiller head upgrade. Blade CP Repair - Maintenance Manual - Bell Hiller Upgrade

Various other sites also recommend not going the CF or plastic blade routes unless you are confident of not catching the blades on anything.

Century gear mod looks a bit of a bodge but it could help having to strip the heli everytime you brush anything with the blades.

thats a good site.only difference is that the cpp2 already has a bell hiller head?

              would these blades work?
10x 246mm Main Blade 4 ESky Honey Bee CP2 Helicopter B on eBay (end time 04-Feb-11 08:15:58 GMT)

Did the honeybee blades need shimming to fit or are they a straight fit?
Does the honeybee cp2 definitely have a 2mm bolt to fit the blades? (through the blade grip)

right,I just measured my standard e-flite blades.

                They are;
228mm from bolthole to tip and 235mm from root to tip.
My friend measured his walkera 22e blades and they are 246mm from bolthole to tip and 255mm from root to tip,I would assume that means they may be a bit too long to fit my cp pro 2?

Did you ever find any cheaper blades to suit the CPP2?
