  • Edge FBL Blades

I brought some Edge 603 FBL blades for the 600 a few weeks ago.. I read everywhere that they are the dogs danglies

I've only managed a few tanks with them on... and honestly.. I dont like them I find them pitchy and twitchy (If this makes sense?).. I actually prefered the standard 600D's with the Beast X unit..

Any advice on how I can get a decent Beastx setup with those blades?

Actually, I feel the same about by radix flybarless blades on my 600 with beastx. I will be borrowing some 600d's to compare tomorrow. will let you know my thoughts. The only way to test is back to back.

I found the 600D has much more feel, and I was connected with the heli and it done what I wanted it to do.. with the Edge blades.. it was way to sensitive (pitches alot) during normal fast flights but yet slow on flips, rolls etc.. Eager to hear what you think Seize2 it would be great if you can get back to me!

I have some Edge FBL blades for my 6HV but have not converted it over yet so interested in your thoughts.

I have some Radix 710 FBL and they work great for me. I like them.

I have the Edge FBL blades on my 500 with Beast X- they certainly seemed a lot more stable and planted than the standard Align Ds.

Eckchaz- what setting have you got on your Beast X ie Sport/Pro etc- had mine on sport to start with and it is way too slow- the rolls were like corkscrews the rate was so slow.

Did you get the Blue light on 6 degree pitch during the head check set up? May be worth shortening the effective servo arm length if it was marginal- this will increase the response too.

I find the Edge FBL blades more stable in areas where the heli hangs in the air (floats), but they're not as efficient as they claim, they bog just as much as other good brand blades when you give em some stick.

It depends on how much cyclic throw you can get too. The Edge FBL blades should be fine on any correctly set-up FBL system. (e.g lots of cyclic pitch available)

Some still might not like the reduced cyclic/pop(in some helis/setups) with them and for that you should just use lightweight fast flybar blades.

With my Logo 600 the cyclic rate can be insane, I guess due to the fact I can get lots of pitch if need be (direct linkages from servos to swash).

I've got mine on Pro but stepped it back to sport becuase of the way it flew with them.. and got the blue light bang on 6deg with the reduced horn fitting.

Am I being stupid thinking I can bolt them on without tweeking the FBL system

Normally all you have to do is increase cyclic rates/agility.

Looks like I need to dial up pot 1.. dial down pot 2.. and maybe lower parameter 3...

As long as the Beast X set up is Ok I would just fly them, see what they are like then tweak accordingly. I found I had to up the responsiveness and cyclic to get the response I wanted, especially on aileron rolls. It's crazy how much pitch you can dial in if you want
