Radix 600

I recently got a set of Radix 600, as with all blades I always check the CofG and balance.

These Radix was a 2" square bit of sticky plastic at the end of one blade which I presuming is for balancing. The problem being is the blade with the square plastic is the heavier blade...........quite a bit heavier. I have added counter weight to the CofG of the other blade but I don't think it is ideal.

can anyone confirm the square piece of plastic is for balancing as I may take it off.

Read what it says on the square bit of plastic.

It's there to protect the blades from scratching each other in the box.

Nothing is written on the plastic, you can see it in the pictures below

oh, sorry - I've had 2 pairs of 600s and a pair or 315s and they had 'remove before use' typed on the plastic.

It has been a long time. I heard they moved the Max Bashing Track but from looking at the Forum I believe Marky is still top of the game.

The Serpent went last year, the Yamaha DT went the year before that,,,,,I have still Kept my Kania 3 (can't get ride of it, to much fun).

I blame you for this Heli lark, if you never posted Szabos Sunday at lake on Max Bashing I would still be in the dark about 3D heli flying, I remembered when people first saw it and some was saying it was fake and all made up as a heli cannot fly like that LOL......

I have been flying small 450 size helis for the last year and half and started on the nitro <picture of a nitro addict inserted here> last year may, I currently run a heavy upgraded Raptor Titan.

Where do you fly we must meet up or if you fancy a trip to Croydon I fly at a club called CAMFC (Croydon Airplane Model Flying Club), we also do a show called Southern Model Airshow.

Yep the clear label is just to protect the blades, it will peel off very easily

that musta been about the time i bought the Sceadu that i eventually had to get shot of without even flying it! bloody wimmin!

as for Max spazzing i stopped going there well before the start of the 2005 season & requested to be deleted from the forum not long afterwards! apparently they've moved tracks but as i'd never ever go there again it doesn't interest me at all! a lot of people wised up & moved on! a pattern which i'm told continues to this day

i got a full outfit from an old Karting buddy last week so i can pick up being a heli newb where i left off 3 years ago

Good to have you on board Adam, if it is a Raptor question then I would be your man so feel free to ask those questions,,,,, like which way should the tail blade spins and JR or Futaba or which gyro................I will answer that one now...........there is only 1 Futaba GY401 ,
there is better but the 401 gives the best of all worlds for the price.

apparently it flys real well just as it is, i had a demo of it when i handed over the cheque

Well I have had 2 crashes with mine, first was when it was new and I was running the engine in, I had the canopy off and got a bit disorientated flying slow towards me and dumb thumbed it. The second was a minor boom strike when I tried a inverted auto (hover about a foot off of the deck inverted, hit the throttle hold, do a half flip and land the right way up. I can do it on the sim and almost got away with it). 3 third crash was last weekend getting used to the DX7 it was getting dark and I got disorientated and hit the ground hard at speed.

The last one was the most expensive crash but, the heli is all back together and back to Nutz Spec, there is nothing I would change on her.
