Some of the Align 450 sized blades can be 315mm as opposed to 325mm so this maybe where the difference is mate

My Align blades say 325 on them so thats not it
I will get the ruler out and measure them.. maybe align just cant count

Ive just got back from test flying the new blades.

To be honest I was a bit sceptical about what a difference it would make but I am pleasantly supprised.

Pitch response seems much better, add some collective and the heli really snaps upwards now. The collective might be sharper as well, but im probably not good enough to feel that yet. Fast forward flight seems faster and more stable and its easyer to keep the heli at a constand height in the wind.

I still cant get the blades to track 100%, but I think I have found the problem.
I stuck some tracking taps on the blades and one was very slightly high, so I lengthen the link (less pitch) and now that blade is low and the other is high.
Even turning the balljoint half a turn isnt sensitive enough.
You can buy turnbuckles for the belt CP to solve this problem so it looks like I need one more upgrade

I managed my first big loop tonight which looked pretty cool and I did my first rolls although I was putting the negative pitch in too early so the heli was traveling sideways a bit.

The blades no longer make such a loud noise when I change from positive to negative pitch.

        I bought the Align carbon reinforced 325 blades..Absolutely w*nk..

They are just a very thin bit of moulded plastic, with a carbon rod on the bottom of them. They flex a ridiculous amount, well they did until I binned the 450

I have been using cheap Hong Kong fibreglass ones this evening, which are far better than the 'caarbon re-inforced' Align blades.

I am only doing a basic manouvres though, so I wouldnt be pushing the fibreglass ones too hard anyway.

i believe its because some manufactures measure from the hole, and some measure from tip to tip, which is what align do (i think)

actually i would like to know which manufactures measure which way, as i am also on the lookout for some new blades, and don't want to get the shorter ones because of where they take the measurement from.
          Grrrr not again!!!
