  • Whats good on a budget?

    Guys,
Having just trashed the Raptor after a Great days flying.. Last flight a loop
to low needed about 4ft and she'd of made it round... Lucky long grass
caught the heli so it wasn't to bad....

So I had BBT's from midland and they seemed really good for 34.99 defiantly
an improvement on the NHP's I had or the Perkins JP blades.

But whats a good blade for aerobatics without breaking the bank?

          Just to bump this again
Im running a Sceadu Evo 50 and instead of starting a new thread, thought I would add to this one instead.
Currently using the stock grey glass blades that come with the evo and been pretty happy with them so far, but noticed in a thread that Ade mentioned that theyre rather flimsy/fragile, and with getting further into 3D etc, would rather lessen the risk and go for a set of Carbon blades.

So what blades would you recommend for an Evo 50? I read in another thread someone saying that a set of blades they had were great in one heli, but not as good in a different make of heli.

Budget upto £50 at a rought guess (as postage will obviously be added on top)

          Many thanks,

          Mark.

If you can stretch just a little bit further, I highly recommend you look at getting a set of the new SAB 620s for 3D on the Sceadu - I put mine on, on wednesday and they are outstanding!
            £52.50 from Midlands.
            Cheers,
            Rob

SAB, MS, NHP, are all pretty close to your budget, all good blades too.

Well, Demonjets gave me a surprise on Friday evening when he popped round to my house with a new set of JP 600mm carbon blades for me!
After cursing the crap weather yesterday, today turned out to be rather nice, so we legged it out to the field before the weather noticed what we were doing lol! to get a flight in.

Must admit, they are pretty dam goooood! as I noticed that they seemed to give a quicker response when flying and I did a funnel and it came out pretty dam good compared to when I used to try them with the stock glass blades I had been using since getting the heli.

Didnt go overboard with the flying though as only previously to my flight, a friend of ours flew his evo 50 and his tail stopped responding and crashed it (about £100 worth of damage at a rough quick estimate!!)
After about 30 mins after his crash and my flight, we were sat talking and all of a sudden smoke started to pour out from the battery compartment of his heli remains, so it looks like the battery had shorted in flight which caused the crash, and only after a while did the wires retouch again and naffed his battery up totally! (lucky it wasnt a lipo!!!)

So as you can imagine, I was a little weary of going too far with my heli as I think its Evo curse time at our field lol!

                        Mark.

PS. very impressed with the blades considering theyre only £30 to buy new!!

The JP carbons, although being of very light construction internally are very good

yeah was certainly impressed with them.
Friend who crashed his today used the NHP's and another friend who smashed his raptor up ages ago used them also (NHP's) and we were surprised that all that was in the NHP's was white foamy stuff lol! (after the raptor crash of my mate it looked almost like Xmas on the field around his heli )

If you look inside the JP`s though, there is only air

and a balsa spar running down them

As i said very light construction internally
