  • No More crashes please!!

Decided to splash out and buy a set of Radix blades for the mini titan!
These are my first set of decent blades, so hopefully I will be able to make them last for a while .
i wonder if I will notice any difference in the way the heli performs?
They sure look good and they did not require any balancing, which is a first.

World of diffrence especially compared to the stock TT woodies. Pitch & cyclics will be alot crisper.
          Cheers

went out this afternoon to test the new blades.
Got her in the air in normal mode and every time I increased the throttle the heli kicked right?
Thought it was a bit odd so quickly landed to have a look over all the vital bits- couldnt see anything obvious.
Sparked it up again and checked all the control surfaces and upon checking the rudder it had very limited movement. It turned out to be a siezed tail rotor grip bearing. When i took it off I could not even move it with a pair of pliers!!
So its grounded again now waiting for more bits-aaaaargh

Should the tail rotor movement be part of the pre-flight check every flight?

As for the performance of the blades well I'll let y'all know later.

Most definately yes. Check basically everything that moves.

Finally got chance to fly the heli today.
It was a bit gusty but it proved not to be a problem for the very stable Mini T.
due to the windy conditions I couldn't really do anything flash, so basic hovering and a couple of fast circuits was all I could manage.
I didn't ( and still dont) know what differences to expect from the new Radix Blades so I shall have to wait for better weather and the time to use it before I can really tell if they were worth the extra cash!!.

Anyone else get out for a fly today?

Yes but again too windy really up here, very gusty! Funny how the wind picks up in sync with the speed of the rotor head isnt it? Then when you decide discretion is the better part of valour and pack it up, go in and then look out the window its dead calm
