  • F3C blades on a 700e pro dfc

    Hiya,

After having to sell my 710mm blades (too long) which I bought for auto and big air fun I am trying to get something as close as possible without the tail strikes.

Align do a 700 3d and 700 f3c blade. Is there any reason the f3c wouldn't work on the pro dfc (really, a 3d heli)?

Apart from an occasional tictoc I dont do 3d, mainly just sport flying, inverted grass cutting and anything not too serious.

    What ya think?
    Thanks!!

    Hello Crumpet
How about going at a different angle and buying the boom, torque rod and tail control rod from a 700n DFC. They are 15mm longer and you can use the blades you have.....

Hi, I looked at that but at over £50 I'm nearly at the cost of new blades and just have it as it was meant to be.

      Thanks for the suggestion though

Ive run 710s on 700 dominator (same boom length as yours) with no issue. I think Tony Stevens ran 710's on his Trex 700 too. Neither of us had boom strikes ever.

"edit" In actual fact ive got 710's on my 700 nitro V2 (again same boom), And no boom strikes on that either
Some say my left nipple is the shape of a Raptor canopy.......... And that for fun I chase sheep in wellies 3 sizes too big. All I know is I am 3D Clod

I was told on here that 710 was a no no as the main hits the tail, and when trying it out, it would hit the tail (obviously way before the boom), and confirmed this phoning align-trex.com

          They're 105mm tail blades

Guess nobody uses f3c blades then lol

Well I have certainly never hit the tails on mine, Like I say my current nitro is running 710's you welcome to come see it and the lack of boom strikes and tail blade contact

It's quite easy to check if the blades will make contact just by lining them up, mains down the boom and tail blade pointing up at the main blade at it's closest point. Bend the main blade down and as long as it clears 'comfortably' you'll be good to go. If 710's are close then 700's will be fine and as for F3C blades it'll make no difference what so ever if you're a sport flyer, I still like the feel of Radix FB blades on a FBL heli for example.

One of the F3C flyers are going to be much better placed to answer this but yes both the 3D and F3C 700mm blades will work but they will fly differently. F3C blades - as I understand it thanks to Mark Christy a few weekends back - are a bit heavier and have their CG further out and more forward than 3D blades so they tend to be less responsive to cyclic inputs than 3D blades and more stable in FFF. Not that the likes of me would actually see the difference at all.

I have a pair of the 700 F3c blades. I've flown them on a few of my helis as I like heavier blades (I think they're around 200 grams if memory serves). I'd be happy to sell them if I still have them but I am out of town till the 17th of May. You might also like the Cyclone 695s. I also try lots of different blades and like the standard Radix 690s as well. (I don't have a 700e DFC though, this is on a TDR and Kasama Faifa)
